Hello!

Welcome to Dogwoods & Driftwood! My name is Melissa and I started this blog in order to have an online place where readers and myself could revisit my previous travels.

A Little About Me & What You’ll Find on This Blog

I am a nurse of 10+ years, so helping people is in my blood. My hope is that at least SOMETHING on this blog can help you plan a fun and exciting trip! In each post, I try my best to give you location-specific, need-to-know information, while I recap my visit to that particular site. Most of my trips are in 1-2 days, so I am in no way an expert for that particular location, but I aim to tell you what I have learned so that you can plan an awesome trip! (And you can learn from my mistakes!)

In my spare time, I enjoy all things arts & crafts, dogs, photography, and Chick-Fil-A. When I’m not at work, you will often find me outdoors, enjoying the weather, and probably planning my next travels!

How it all started:

About two years ago, one of my coworkers was talking about getting her “passport book stamped” when we went to the Smokies for my birthday. I soon learned about the National Park System’s Passport Stamp book and I was sold. Since then, I have been traveling around the U.S. visiting various sites of the National Park System and getting my passport book stamped! So as of right now, that is where my travel focus lies.

New Around Here?
